If you’re looking for a fitness challenge and want to be charitable at the same time, please join us in September at the annual “Angel Walk.”
The “Angel Walk” was created in 2008 by residents of the Soleil AKA Laurel Canyon Community. It begins and ends at the Club House after many leg burning hills in the middle.
Initially Carla Roberts was honored as a volunteer and resident of the Soleil community for her on going charitable efforts in our community. Carla walked “The Hill” each day and put a lot of emphasis on being fit and healthy. Despite these efforts, Carla passed away yet left behind a legacy.
The event became a milestone that allows residents and the community to come together for a day of “fitness” and “reflection” on those in our community that put others first.
The “Angel Walk” has no time keepers or police, just honest people accurately reporting their completion at a pace that feels comfortable to them. The ceremony begins with acknowledging those in our community that have given so freely of themselves and is followed by a three mile walk, a pool side bar b que and finishes with an auction. The proceeds all go the North Georgia Angel House to fulfill pending needs that the home may have to better serve our youth.
We hope you’ll consider joining us!
